Funeral services for Mrs. Jacque Winnon Burchfield, age 65, of Bastrop, LA, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, in the Chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post and Bro. Jeff Maxwell officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday at Golden Funeral Home. Mrs. Burchfield, a retired Louisiana State Police Communications Supervisor, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She loved traveling the world with her favorite traveling partners- Brenda, Donna, Aunt Mae, Jamie, and Aunt Ivy Jean. When she wasn’t off seeing the world, you could usually find her outside working in her flowerbeds. Jacque spent countless hours researching her family’s genealogy and was a proud member of the Natchitoches Tribe of Louisiana, where she served as a Chief Council Member. Mrs. Burchfield is survived by her husband of 23 years, Billy Burchfield; mother, Lawanda Watson; son, Brannon Smith and wife Laura; brothers, Kelly Winnon and wife Nancy, Jeff Winnon and wife Marya; grandchildren, Micah Smith, Mason Smith, and Ann-Marie Smith; uncles, Wayne Warner and Gary Warner; aunts, Mae Mardis, Ivy Jean Winnon, Lillian Winnon and nieces and nephews, Holly Blom, Caroline Hughes, Haleigh Hatley and Clay Thomas Winnon and numerous cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, George Winnon and step-mother Joan Winnon. Serving as pallbearers are: Keith Myers, John Cox, Jimmy Farrar, Britt Hankins, Brian Winnon and Randy Winnon. The family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Home.
